The M1 Garand was according to General Patton "the greatest war implement ever invented". It was the basic infantry rifle that was issued to every military personnel in the united states armed forces during world war 2 and the succeeding wars that followed that the US army participated in, except of course the latest war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Even if it is no longer used, i believe it is still very nice and effective weapon. It is a nice gun for collection in the perspective of a gun enthusiast.
